2. The service

VP+ operates a gated marketplace and community that connects vetted video editors with clients looking to hire them, together with related resources such as job listings, a learning platform with courses and practice material, live sessions, community access, productivity tools and onboarding calls.

Parts of the membership are delivered through third-party platforms, in particular our Discord community. To use those parts you need your own account with that platform and must follow its terms. We are not responsible if a third-party platform suspends your account or changes or withdraws features.

Some features award points, streaks, badges or leaderboard positions. These have no monetary value, cannot be redeemed or transferred, and we may adjust, expire or remove them at any time. Leaderboards and similar features may display your username and activity or achievement statistics to other members.

Contracts for editing work remain between the editor and the client, and we are not an employment agency or employment business. However, payments for work arranged through the marketplace are processed through the platform as described in section 7.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to buy a membership or use the marketplace.
  • You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
  • Your account is personal to you. Do not share your login or resell your access.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

Access to the marketplace is gated. We may decline or revoke an application at our discretion, including where an applicant does not meet our vetting standards.

4. Membership, payment and renewals

Membership prices, billing frequency and what is included are shown at the point of purchase. Unless stated otherwise, memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period using your saved payment method, until you cancel.

  • Payments are taken by our third-party payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
  • Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout.
  • We may change our prices, but a change will only apply to you from your next billing period, and we will tell you first.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend your access until it is settled.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your membership at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase. Because the membership gives you immediate access to digital content and the marketplace, you agree that we begin supplying it straight away and that you lose that 14-day right once access has been provided. This does not affect your legal rights if the service is faulty or not as described.

Beyond these legal rights, membership fees are non-refundable once access has been provided. Anything we offer in addition, for example a specific guarantee promoted on our pricing page, applies on the terms stated with that offer. Questions about billing can be sent to Jack@vidproplus.co.

6. Your obligations

When using VP+, you agree not to:

  • Copy, scrape, republish or resell marketplace listings, client contact details or member-only material.
  • Misrepresent your experience, portfolio or identity.
  • Harass, spam or abuse other members, clients or our team.
  • Use the platform for anything unlawful, or to circumvent our fees or vetting, including agreeing or taking payment for marketplace work outside the platform's payment flow.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the platform.
  • Use member tools such as the lead scraper or CRM unlawfully. You are responsible for any contact details or other data about third parties that you collect, import or store using these tools, and for having the right to use it.

7. Work arranged through the marketplace

Contracts for editing work are between the editor and the client. You are responsible for agreeing scope, deadlines, revisions and rights with the other party, and for your own tax and legal obligations.

Payments and escrow

Payments for marketplace work are made through the platform. The client funds the agreed project price into escrow before work begins, and we hold it until it is released to the editor in line with these Terms. Funds are released when the client releases them, when a release request made by the editor completes, or when a dispute is resolved. Taking or making payment for marketplace work outside this flow is a breach of these Terms.

Fees

We charge a platform fee to the client on top of the amount they place into escrow, and a service fee that is deducted from the editor’s payout when funds are released. The applicable fees or rates are shown before you fund a project or accept work. Platform and service fees are non-refundable, including where a project is cancelled or a dispute is resolved in either party’s favour.

Disputes between clients and editors

If a client and an editor disagree about a marketplace project, either side can raise it with us. We will review the project record, the chat history and the work delivered, and we decide in good faith whether escrowed funds are released to the editor, returned to the client, or split. That decision is final as between you and us, although it does not affect your legal rights against the other party.

We screen members but we do not guarantee the conduct, solvency, quality or suitability of any client or editor, and beyond operating the escrow and dispute process described above we are not responsible for non-delivery or the standard of any work produced.

8. Intellectual property

The Video Production+ name and logo, this website, and all training, templates, community material and other content we supply are owned by or licensed to Jack Cole Productions Limited. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them for your own professional use while your membership is active.

You keep the rights in your own portfolio and work. By submitting content to us (for example an application, showreel, testimonial, review, community post or practice submission) you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it to run and promote the service, and you confirm you have the rights to give that permission.

9. No guarantee of results

Earnings figures, client wins and testimonials on our site are examples of what some members have achieved. They are not a promise or projection of what you will earn. Results depend on your skill, availability, effort and market conditions. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Subject to that, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost opportunities or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. We aim to keep it running but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access, without refund, if you breach these Terms, if your conduct puts other members or clients at risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when. If a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice, usually by email or a notice on the site. Continuing to use VP+ after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your home country and may bring proceedings there.
